The 2010 Angus Gold Show at Old Home Week will be named in honor of an individual or farm that has made significant contributions to the PEI, Maritime, and Canadian Angus Associations.
To the nominating committee or individual:
Clearly outline the nominee's contributions to the Angus breed without allowing the submission to become repetitive and lengthy. Please do not include pictures or newspaper articles.
A complete nomination should contain:
Part 1: A maximum of one page introduction to the nominee.
Part 2: A summary may be point form of the nominee's involvement in the Angus breed. This can include volunteer commitments, show results, sale information, et al. Describe the nominee's involvement, impact, initiatives and achievements in and with the Angus breed at the local, provincial, national and international level. Include approximate time period if possible.
Part 3: A letter of support for the nominee from the nominator. Please outline the nominee's leadership, participation and impact in Angus involvements and organizations. Include dates and responsibilities if possible.
Please note, all or part of the nomination package may be used in written form and may also be used by the show announcer at the time of the show.

It is the responsibility of the Board of Directors of the PEI Angus Association to select the individual or farm to be honored. All nominations will be kept for consideration for future show honorees.

Atlantic Stockyards Green Tag Angus Sale
To be eligible for the CAA green tag portion of the sale, the calves must have green CAA RFID tags. To purchase these tags or get more information about them, check out this link, http://peiangus.blogspot.com/2010/07/canadian-angus-association-rfid-tag.html.
It is recommended by Atlantic Stockyards that all calves be vaccinated for these sales.

Canadian Angus Association RFID tag prices
50 RFID tags x $2.92 each = $146.00
Click on the following link to see a copy of an order form from the CAA, tag order form. The RFID and dangle tags come in bags of 25 so the minimum order is 25. That would be a cost of $103 plus $10 shipping and gst. You may order RFID tags on their own.
All tags work with the red Allflex tagger.

2009 Old Home Week Video
Rules for Old Home Week Angus Show and Futurity
As stated in the OHW rules and regulations booklet, "Both Angus Shows (Open/Gold Show and Futurity) will be non-aerosol/non-pressurized can shows."
The following is from the Canadian Angus Association, "In accordance with the Canadian Angus Association's Environmental Policy, the use of paint and colouring on animals in Association-sponsored shows is prohibited. The Board of Directors is responsible for checking all animals entering the show ring and refusing entry to any with paint or artificial colouring."
