PEI Angus Results from the Road
PEI Angus Breeders and their offspring had excellent results on the road in St. Marie de Kent, New Brunswick and Truro, Nova Scotia.
Two females that were purchased at the Maritime Angus in Action Sale were both Grand Champion and Reserve Grand Champion Females at the Kent County Agricultural Fair in St. Marie de Kent. JEM Classy Lady 8X owned by Dusty Breeze Farm of Jolicure, New Brunswick and purchased from Julie Mutch at the 2010 Angus in Action Sale was selected the Grand Champion Female by judge Robert Acton.
The Reserve Grand Champion Female, Wheatley River Rosie is owned by Thunderbrook Farms of Truemanville, Nova Scotia. Rosie was purchased from Wheatley River Farm at the 2006 Angus in Action Sale.
The Reserve Grand Champion Male was Dusty Breeze Tim 1X owned by Dusty Breeze Farm. The dam of this bull is Worth-A-Bit Annie K 5U who was purchased by the Booth family at the 2009 Angus in Action Sale from Worth-A-Bit Farms.
JEM Classy Lady 7X, another 2010 Angus in Action Sale purchase from JEM Farms, now owned by Trevor and Taylor Welch of New Brunswick was second in the yearling class and the Champion 4H Animal.

In Truro at the Nova Scotia Provincial Exhibition, judge Terry Geddes selected Mutch Farms' (Stephen and Jennie Mutch) JEM Classy Lady 42T as the Grand Champion Female.
Bannockburn Valley Farm's Bannonckburn Valley Dolly 3W was selected as the Reserve Grand Champion Female.
Bannockburn Valley Kodiak 46X was selected as the Grand Champion Male. This is 46X's second Grand Champion in a week. Last week, he was the Grand Champion Male and Supreme Grand Champion Male in Charlottetown.
To wrap things up on Saturday, JEM Classy Lady 42T was selected as the Supreme Beef Female over all other breeds. Bannockburn Valley Farm's Dolly 3W was 4th overall in the finale.

Old Home Week Junior Angus Showmanship Class
A new feature for the Old Home Week Angus Show in Charlottetown is the Junior Angus Showmanship Class. To be eligible, entrants must be a current Canadian Junior Angus member and must show a purebred Angus animal. The class will take place immediately following the group classes of the Angus open show on Friday, August 19th. The open Angus show begins at 8:30 am. A perpetual trophy in memory of Fred A. Coles will be presented to the winner. The judge for the class will be Francis Gagnon and he will select only one winner.
