Maritime members recognized for 25 years of breeding Angus



Four Maritime Angus breeders were recognized today for breeding Angus cattle for 25 consecutive years.

Maritime Angus Field Day June 13th and 14th, 2014

All Field Day activities will take place at the Port Elgin Fair grounds.  Friday evening activities will take place there as well. Other events planned are a social evening, ‘Fun Auction”. Saturday events will take place at the Port Elgin Fair grounds.  Activities include breakfast, lunch, Junior Show, Showmanship, and MJAA Annual meeting and discussions with Junior Ambassador Chad Lorenz.

6 to 12 years……………………..$8.00
Under 6 years…………………….FREE

Please note:  The fee includes breakfast and lunch.

Breakfast will be available at the fair grounds.  Breakfast will be available at 7:30

Reminder to Junior Heifer Show participants:  Bring the registration papers for your purebred heifers to the show. Both the tattoo and registration paper for your purebred heifer will be checked at the Field Day.  This is to qualify for the Canadian Junior Heifer Show Grant. All purebred heifers also need to be tagged with the Angus green CCIA tag. Green Dangle tag is optional (but recommended).

2014 Ivomec Angus Futurity Second Round of Nomination Entries

We are pleased to announce that there are 14 breeders who entered cattle for the second round of nominations for the 2014 Ivomec Angus Futurity to be held in Charlottetown in August.
The breeders represent all three Maritime provinces.
The nomination numbers are as follows:
37 calves
13 yearling heifers
6 two-year old cows
The third round of nominations is due July 18, 2014.
