All three of JEM Farms steers were produced by Purebred Angus Dams.
Reserve Grand Champion and Champion Angus:
Dam: JEM Miss Lark 37N (AKM Black Prince)
Champion Simmental:
3rd place Limo
Dam: JEM Duchess 1U (Woodhill Foresight)
Both the Champion 4-H and Reserve Champion 4-H steers were produced from purebred Angus females. Congratulations to Corey Ford and Emily McKenna on these results and Worth-a-Bit Angus for breeding these animals.
Logan Ford exhibited a steer bred and owned by Glen and Ronnie Ford. The steer sire is Beverly Hills Centennial, purebred Angus sire, who is owned by Beverly Hills Angus. The dam, Blueberry, is a cow we have bred and owned on our farm. The steer is only 13 months and weighed 1330 lbs. Logan showed the calf as a 4-H project in the summer of 2012. He had a lot of winning with this steer calf last summer. Logan was named Reserve Champion Any Other Bred steer at the 2013 PEI Easter Beef Show and Sale.
Glen Ford exhibited a steer bred and owned on our farm. He has a club calf sire, Point Taken. The dam is a purebred Angus cow we bred and own. This steer was shown by Justin in the summer of 2012 as a 4-H project.
